VITO is honoured to take part in the ATIPIC/BPG Technical Academic Afternoon Workshop 2025: Where Polymers meet Coatings. The event will be held on Tuesday 30 September, from 13:00 to 17:00 at Technopolis in Mechelen.
This unique workshop brings together leading experts from both academia and industry, including Dr. Jacques Warnon (President ATIPIC), Prof. Louis Pitet (President BPG), Denis Heymans (Hexion), Dominique Vandenberghe (Westlake Epoxy), and Prof. Niko Van den Brande (VUB). Representing VITO, our colleague Dr. Marc Comi Bonachi will present his work.
Marc will share VITO’s pioneering research on lignin-based epoxy resins, a sustainable alternative to fossil-based bisphenol systems. By building on our expertise in lignin valorisation, pilot-scale facilities, and EU-funded research projects such as LEGACY (NextGenerationEU), VITO demonstrates how renewable lignin can be transformed into high-performance, bio-based coatings. These innovations aim to combine functionality and safety with the principles of the circular economy.
We invite you to save the date, explore the full program, and register through the event website: ATIPIC/BPG Technical Academic Afternoon Workshop 2025.
